Dr. Juan José Torrent

Gynaecological oncological surgery, peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC), PIPAC, HIPEC and advanced laparoscopy

Dr Torrent is the founder of JTI Surgical Oncology in Barcelona and is an expert in minimally invasive surgery  (laparoscopy).  He studied with Profesor Chapron, Hopital Cochin, Paris and his professional activity continued at the Institut Claudius Regaud (Toulouse) with Pr Querleu he also collaborated with Dr Françoise Quénet’s team in the Institute du Cancer de Montpellier (ICM).

His specialization is the  treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis of ovarian origin and he is the top researcher in Spain for European clinical studies on  the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis using cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC.

  • Utility of the laparoscopic single port in peritoneal carcinomatosis. Observational study. Data are being collected in diagnostic laparoscopies performed with a single port to improve the diagnostic protocol of peritoneal carcinomatosis.
  • Viability of detection of the para-aortic sentinel lymph node (by laparoscopy) in the treatment of high-risk endometrial carcinoma. Observational study. The goal is to complete the lymphatic map of endometrial cancer.
